The Commission on English Language Program Accreditation

The American English Institute (AEI) is accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation for the period August 2016 through August 2026 and agrees to uphold the CEA Standards for English Language Programs and Institutions. University and College Intensive English Programs

University and College Intensive English Programs (UCIEP) is an independent consortium of university and college-administered intensive English programs in the United States. Founded in 1967, UCIEP's purpose is to advance professional standards and quality instruction in intensive English programs at universities and colleges in the United States. The AEI became a member of UCIEP in 1994, and administrators have been active professionally and on the Executive Board ever since.

English USA supports all types of intensive English programs (IEPs). With a membership of over 400 accredited IEPs, English USA is the largest membership organization dedicated to serving and supporting IEPs in the United States. English USA supports the professional development of IEP leaders and staff, upholds professional standards for IEPs, and increases the visibility of IEPs in the United States. AEI faculty and staff regularly present and participate in English USA events.

The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) is the regional authority on educational quality and institutional effectiveness for the Northwest region. The AEI serves the educational mission of the University of Oregon through scholarship, English language instruction, and English language professional training. The AEI champions the University's mission of internationalization and is a leader in helping to achieve the University's goals for diversity and student success.

The University of Oregon and the AEI are active members of Study Oregon. Study Oregon is a consortium of Oregon colleges, universities, high schools, and English as a second language (ESL) schools that welcomes and helps to support international students who wish to pursue a wide array of degrees, diplomas, and certificates in the beautiful Pacific Northwest of the United States.
