Common Set of Descriptors for Projects
The following descriptors provide the basic framework for Business English projects and activities in this web site.
Target Audience
While this web site is intended primarily for educators working in the area of ESP-Business with secondary or tertiary level learners, the projects can easily be adapted to the real world communication needs of business people in the workplace.
Language Proficiency
Variable, according to task. Most activities are "scaleable;" i.e., they can be simplified or made more complex to fit students' abilities and needs.
Learning Focus
The learner skills involved in the activity or project.
Technology Needed
The technology recommended for each activity is described. The continual upgrading of technology and the ability to do these tasks in more than one way should also be taken into account.
Instructions
Recommended instructions for the activity or project.
Helpful Hints
Ideas that may make the activity or project easier to do.
Expanded Options
Ideas for adapting or extending an activity.
Additional resources and examples.
